Our SOSA colleagues from Kingston and the surrounding area joined us online via video link. The group was fortunate to have Carol Anne Chenard, a former FIFA Referee and current National Instructor and MLS VAR, lead this session on the “Severity of Fouls”. During this session, participants worked through a series of clips to align on the severity of different fouls. We extend a  special thanks to Carol Anne for sharing her experience and expertise with the group. 

The Eastern Ontario Prospects Program aims to support and develop up-and-coming referees who aspire to advance to the regional level and beyond. This program is one of the first in the Province to be delivered starting at the District level. It includes advanced technical in-class education sessions (covering law knowledge and video analysis), on-field practical training, fitness sessions, and ‘in-season’ mentorship opportunities. Through these preparations, participants may have the opportunity to officiate in the top games in the District and region, including Ontario Cup, OCSL Premier, OCAA and OUA. 

Ultimately, our objective is to support the growth of the beautiful game that we all know and love by developing top referees within the district.
